Mike Levin will discuss the continuing tension between those who must protect information in the interest of national security and those who are for more "open" government and think our secrecy policy is broken. He will explore our secrecy policy and problems related thereto. He will discuss the media, leaks, and whistleblowers from the perspective of the intelligence professional.
Following service as an artillery officer in WWII, Mike Levin launched an intelligence career spanning 46 years with the National Security Agency. After 28 years producing signals intelligence, (primarily on the Soviet Union), he moved to the policy arena as Chief, Information Policy (Information Security, Classification, FOIA, and Public Affairs).
