IIEA Policy on Registration Fees for Intelligence & Ethics 2007

As a unique interdisciplinary forum for intelligence ethics, the second annual conference of the International Intelligence Ethics Association (IIEA) depends on your conference registration fees. 

Incorporated July 2006 in the State of Virginia, IIEA remains a self-funded organization.  IIEA does not seek government funding due to the implication of political bias.  Support from private educational and charitable institutions will require IIEA status as a 501(c) non-profit educational organization (now underway with pro bono legal assistance) and a track record of educational activities, such as Intelligence & Ethics 2007.

IIEA Board Members, conference organizers, and conference staff work on a strictly volunteer basis.  All are responsible for their own conference travel expenses and registration fees.  A private donor has contributed to travel expenses of invited foreign presenters to promote an international presence; the donor has covered registration fees for instructors to initiate the Interdisciplinary Tutorials.  All speakers are generously contributing their time and expertise without remuneration.

Any conference profits will be allotted to publication of a quarterly IIEA research bulletin beginning Fall 2007, IRS  application fees for non-profit status, production of materials for the IIEA Education Project, and start-up expenses for the 2008 conference.  The IIEA post-conference budget will be available to conference attendees upon request to the Treasurer.  IIEA is committed to financial and organizational transparency.
